Meet the Rutgers Community Programs Staff

Jennifer Moore is the Assistant Director of Community Programs and an Instructor in the Friends2gether program and the On My Own Playgroup program. She has been with RCP since 2007, and attended playgroups and worked as a group leader when her own daughter was younger. She has a BA from NYU.  Jennifer’s contiuned professional development includes workshops and seminars at Bank Street College for Education, Teachers College, and Teaching Beyond the Square (symposium on what school means to 2-year-olds).
Somer Adams joined RCP as an Instructor in 2007. She teaches in the Ready, Set, Go! and Ready, Set, Go! Jr. programs. Somer has been in national and international road shows of several Broadway musicals. She is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy of New York and holds a teacher’s associate from the Imperial Society of Theatre Dance (ISTD). Somer’s additional training includes professional development courses at Bank Street College of Education on the Reggio-Emilia approach to education and classroom management in an inclusive classroom at Teachers College.
Lesley Countryman began as an Instructor with RCP in 2003. She teaches Cindy & Lesley’s Workshop and Once Upon an Artist, and is also Programs Outreach Advisor, responsible for marketing. After a career as a performing artist in dance, theater, film and television, she taught in the after school program at PS9. Lesley has a BA from Connecticut College.
Lynn Crimando is a Certified Viniyoga Therapist. A 25-year practitioner, Lynn has worked with a wide variety of conditions in corporate, studio and private settings. “At its heart, yoga is about improving relationships–to our physical, mental and emotional realities, our friends, families, and communities, even society at large. By offering experiences that allow participants to tap into their own powers of self-study and healing, we hope to create a meaningful experience for our Rutgers family,” she says.  Lynn teaches Chair Yoga For Every Body.
Shadrach Fher is a native of Patagonia, Argentina. He played college and professional soccer in his native country.  He founded the popular program Soccer by Coach Fher, offered at schools and churches throughout New York City. He has been at RCP since 2002.
Courtney Gold is an assistant teacher in the Ready, Set, Go program. She has worked with children from preschool through kindergarten, and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Boston University and a Master’s in Literacy Education from Hunter College.
Denise LeDonne has been at RCP since 2006, previously heading up the toddler movement classes and as now an instructor in the On My Own Playgroups, Ready, Set, Go! and Ready, Set, Go! Jr. programs. Denise has more than 20 years’ experience as a performing artist in dance, theater, and television. She has a BA from Montclair State College. Her professional development coursework includes a seminar at Bank Street College of Education on the topic of supportive play.
Cindy Schaffer has been an Instructor with RCP since 2000. She teaches Friends2gether, Handprints, Cindy & Lesley’s Workshop and Once Upon an Artist, where children learn about famous artists while creating their own work. Cindy has a BA from NYU and an MA from Columbia University.
Shivani Urban has worked with children for over 10 years. Her experience includes teaching 2 year olds at a preschool in Florida, working as a nurse at a day care center, and  acting as a nanny for a family of three children. Prior to her career working with children, Shivani was a certified medical assistant.
Kirsten Walsh is an assistant in the Ready, Set, Go program.  She previously acted as a substitute in our Ready, Set, Go and On My Own programs, as well as working as a regular instructor in our Ready, Set, Go Summer program. She has many years experience working with young children and a talent for arts and crafts.
Lily Zwyns has been teaching Feldenkrais® for more than 20 years, and at Rutgers since 2001. Her approach is centered in finding overall well-being through integration of mind, body, and spirit.  Lily also teaches private classes in mindfulness, meditation, healing, bone strengthening and the use of pressure points.
