Chair Yoga for Every Body

Thursdays, 1 – 2 pm  FREE CLASS

A 25-year practitioner, Lynn has worked with a wide variety of conditions in corporate, studio, and private settings.  “At its heart, yoga is about improving relationships—to our physical, mental, and emotional realities, our friends, families, and communities, even society at large. By offering experiences that allow participants to tap into their own powers of self-study and healing, we hope to create a meaningful experience for our Rutgers family,” she says.

Chair Yoga For Every Body, a free class sponsored by Health Advocates for Older People, includes seated and supported standing yoga postures intended to preserve range of motion, increase circulation, and promote healthy movement.  The poses can all be modified to individual joint and pain conditions.  The class will also include breathing exercises to build vitality, reduce stress and elevate mood, and meditation for improved mental focus and clarity and increased self-awareness.
Health Advocates for Older People is a 501c (3) organization whose mission is: to promote healthy aging and provide for the growing frail elderly population of New York City, as well as their family members, caregivers, and concerned others, with the tools, techniques, and support needed to age with vitality and independence.
