The next step up from our On My Own playgroup program for children who are ready for drop off, Ready, Set, Go! is dedicated to nurturing children’s innate curiosity and joy in learning. Our beautiful classroom, inspired by the design tenets of the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education, is a warm and welcoming home base for both the morning and afternoon sessions.

Ready, Set, Go mornings

We employ an emergent curriculum that is based in play, creating activities according to the children’s interests, making classroom experiences dynamic and meaningful.   Children also learn, play, and explore in our art studio, gym, roof, “indoor playground,” as well as on selected trips around the neighborhood. Block building, sensory play, science, and story time activities are key components of our program.

Ready, Set, Go Jr afternoons

A high instructor to student ratio means a nurturing environment where activities are differentiated for each child. We further children’s growing sense of independence and creativity with open ended materials that challenge them to become innovators of their play and to develop their imaginations. Children explore and discover in our art studio, gym, and “indoor playground” each week.

We take a maximum of 14 children in the Ready, Set, Go! morning program and eight in the Ready, Set, Go ! Jr. afternoon session to ensure a nurturing environment for your child. Children must be potty-trained to participate in Ready, Set, Go! Priority registration is given to currently enrolled Ready, Set, Go! and On My Own families, and after that, admission is on a first come, first served basis.  Registration is ongoing until the program is full.

Homeroom instructors: Somer Adams, Denise LeDonne, and Therese Snider

Ready, Set, GO! feels like a little bit of magic in the middle of Manhattan. My daughter walks through the classroom door and is met with genuine care and kindness. She gets to spend three hours falling more in love with learning because of the way her teachers value creative play and encourage imagination.  She brings home wonderful art projects, curiosity and facts about our solar system, camping, gardening, or other cultures, empathy for fellow students, and excitement about exercising and playing new games. We love this program and are so thankful for our time there!”
